What Is Forex Cashback? How It Works, Payouts, and Downsides
The basic idea behind cashback
Forex cashback — also called a rebate — is a system that returns part of the spread or commission generated every time you trade, in cash. The amount depends on your trading volume (lot size), there's no markup added to your spread, and using the service is completely free.
The important point is that your trading conditions — spread, leverage, execution quality, and so on — never change in order for you to receive cashback. You trade under exactly the same conditions as a regular FX account, and cashback comes as an added benefit on top.
For the concrete steps to use ForexCB, see How Cashback Works.
Why cashback is free
It's because we pass part of the referral commission that brokers pay to partners who introduce new traders back to you.
The details of this mechanism are explained in What Is an IB? How Cashback Sites Make Money.
The process for receiving cashback
With our site, the process for receiving cashback looks like this.
Sign up for free
You only need an email address to register.
Open an FX account through our site
Open an account via the link on the relevant broker page. If you already have an account, follow that broker's instructions instead.
Register your account number on your dashboard
Once you register the account number, it's linked as an eligible account.
Trade as usual
Just trade as you normally would — no special action is required.
Cashback is credited automatically
With auto-rebate, cashback is calculated and paid automatically based on your trading volume. Where and when it lands depends on the broker (see the table below).
How payouts work differs by broker. See also What Is Auto-Rebate? How It Differs From Manual Rebates for details.
How and when each broker pays out
Where cashback lands, and when, differs by broker. Trades before you registered your account are excluded — see the next section for the details.
| Broker | Where it lands | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Exness | Directly into the account you traded on | By the next day after the trade. Processed every day, including weekends (roughly 12:00–15:00 JST). |
| HFM | Directly into the account you traded on | Roughly 2–3am server time once you reach $1 (around 8–9am JST). |
| XS.com | XS.com's own cashback wallet | Accrues automatically with every trade. |
| TitanFX・AXIORY | Your account on this site | Credited to your account on this site once your trade data is imported. From $10 you can request USDT anytime (no fee, no expiry). |
| Axi | Directly into your Axi account | Usually within about 6–8 hours after next-day processing (roughly 1–2 days total). |
Trades that don't qualify, and other things to note
The following trades are excluded from cashback.
- Trades closed before the day you registered your account with us (UTC) don't count.
- HFM excludes trades held for under 1 minute and trades using only top-up bonus funds (if your own funds and bonus funds are mixed, only the portion from your own funds counts).
- AXIORY excludes gold and stock-type symbols on Zero accounts.
For other exclusions, check each broker's detail page.
The honest downsides of cashback
Cashback does have a few downsides worth knowing about.
Where it lands differs by broker
Some brokers pay directly into your trading account, others into a broker-side wallet, and others accumulate in your account on this site.
Check the table above first and you won't be caught off guard.
Existing accounts sometimes need to be re-linked
With some brokers, an account you already have can't simply be made eligible — you may need to register a new one under a different email address instead.
Follow the "if you already have an account" instructions on each broker's detail page and it only takes a few minutes.
There's a lag before cashback is credited
Most brokers credit cashback the next day or the next business day rather than instantly, so the amount isn't final right away.
Track progress using the unconfirmed/confirmed status on your dashboard.
How to compare against other cashback services
When comparing against other cashback services, we'd suggest judging on four things: the payout rate, where it lands, how fast it lands, and how existing accounts are handled. These vary a lot between services.
Frequently asked questions
Do my trading conditions get worse if I receive cashback?
No. Your trading conditions — spread, execution quality, leverage, and so on — are identical to a regular account. Cashback is simply an extra benefit on top of your normal trading.
Do I still get cashback on losing trades?
Yes. Cashback is generated based on trading volume (lot size), regardless of whether a trade wins or loses.
Does it cost anything to receive cashback?
Using this site is completely free. There's no registration fee, no monthly fee, and no withdrawal fee.
What's the difference between unconfirmed and confirmed cashback?
Unconfirmed cashback is from a trade that just happened and hasn't had its amount finalized by the broker yet — it shows in a lighter color on your dashboard. Confirmed cashback is the amount the broker has finalized, shown in a darker color. Only confirmed cashback counts toward any of the site's milestones or bonuses.
Do accounts with unlimited leverage still qualify for cashback?
Yes for Exness — unlimited leverage accounts still qualify. Conditions vary by broker, so check each broker's detail page for others.
What should I do if I already have an account with a broker?
It depends on the broker. For Exness, we'd recommend registering a new account via our link under a different email address (it's active as soon as verification completes). For XS.com, an existing account can't be re-linked, so you'll need to register a new one under a different email address. For XMTrading and HFM, you can open an additional account using our partner code or campaign ID. See each broker's detail page for specifics.
When does cashback actually land?
It differs by broker — see the table above for the specifics.
